We keep this short because we collect very little. Here is what we collect, why, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

When you contact us through the form: your name, email address, website address, and whatever you write in your message.

When you become a client: billing details, and the content and access you give us to build your site.

We do not collect anything else, and we never buy or sell personal data.

Why we use it

• To answer you. When you contact us, we use your details to reply. The legal basis is the steps you have asked us to take before a possible contract.
• To do the work. If you become a client, we use your information to deliver what you ordered. The legal basis is our contract with you.
• To keep records. Finnish law requires us to keep invoices and accounting records.

We will not add you to a mailing list or send you marketing.

Who we share it with

We work with a small number of trusted partners to deliver client projects, and use standard services to run the business. They only receive what they need to do their part:

• Build partners who design and develop websites for our clients.
• Email and hosting providers who run this website and our email.
• Payment providers who process invoices.

Some of our build partners are located outside the European Economic Area. When your information is transferred outside the EEA, we use the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful safeguard to protect it.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Client records: for as long as we work together, then as long as Finnish accounting law requires (currently up to 10 years for financial records).

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed for this website to work. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies, and nothing on this site tracks you.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• show you what we hold about you
• correct anything that is wrong
• delete your information
• stop or limit how we use it
• give you a copy of your data in a usable format
• withdraw consent you have given

Email hello@emmadigitalagency.com and we will reply within 30 days. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman at tietosuoja.fi.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use data you have already given us, we will tell you.
